What’s new? Latest updates to Octopus Choice

Posted on 25/04/2018, by Joe Jones

It’s always a busy time in the Octopus Choice offices. And the last few weeks have been no exception. Here’s a quick update of some of the new features and upgrades that we’ve released this month.

Tax statements

No one enjoys seeing how much tax they’ve paid. But why not see how much interest you’ve earned?

You can now view your Octopus Choice tax statement for the 2017/18 financial year. For those that need to fill in a self assessment tax return, simply log in to your dashboard, where you’ll be able to download your personal Octopus Choice tax statement.

Not sure if you need to fill in a tax return? Luckily, the government have a handy tool to help you out.

Sign up to our ISA on your mobile phone

Our iOS and Android apps have been around for a while now, but we’re still always looking for ways to expand and enhance them.

You’re already able to check your interest, review your portfolio, make a new investment, and request a withdrawal. And now, as of this week, you’ll also be able to sign-up for an Octopus Choice ISA, right from your device.

We think it’s the only Innovative Finance ISA you can sign-up for from a mobile app (at least, we couldn’t find any others...).

And remember, the Octopus Choice ISA isn't a flexible ISA. Any withdrawals that you make from this year's money will still count towards your ISA allowance. Tax treatment is subject to change and is dependent on individual circumstances. Your capital is at risk if you invest.

Octopus Choice homepage gets a refresh

We always want to make things simpler for our users. And in few places is that more important than on our homepage – it’s often the first time someone gets to know who we are.

That’s why we decided to move a few things around, and pack in even more useful information and content, including a new investor video.

Some fiddling behind the scenes

As always, we’ve done a lot of work to upgrade the stuff you don’t see, too. We’ve made some tweaks to our bank transfers system and also given some shine to our loan redemption procedures.
